Did you know that organizations and universities in Iloilo Province have started their own digital libraries and online repositories for easier access and searching of their research outputs and other publications? Here are four institutional repositories established by universities in Iloilo Province.

Please note that access of resources may vary by institution, some materials may be open access but others may have restrictions.

BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository

Central Philippine University’s official digital archive for its scholary publications is called BAHÁNDÌAN, which means “treasure chest” in Hiligaynon. This online repository acts as a central hub for the university’s scholarly works, including research by faculty, students, and collaborators. BAHÁNDÌAN makes these materials openly accessible to anyone, promoting knowledge sharing and preserving valuable research for future generations. It also follows the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) to ensure easy searching and discovery of Central Philippine University’s academic contributions.

SEAFDEC/AQD Institutional Repository

The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center’s Aquaculture Department (AQD) provides free online access to the research of its scientists through their digital repository, SAIR. This archive allows anyone to easily discover and download publications, including journal articles, books, and conference materials. By making this information openly available, SAIR aims to boost the visibility and impact of AQD research, particularly publications in respected scientific journals.

WIRED++
WVSU Institutional Repository and Electronic Dissertations and Theses PLUS

WIRED++ is the official online repository of Western Visayas State University, safeguards and provides access to scholarly and creative works produced by “taga-West”. It serves as a central hub showcasing the region’s excellence in research, creativity, and community service. WIRED++ offers a wide range of materials, including research papers, dissertations, university publications, literary works, and more. In the future, it plans to expand its collection to include multimedia resources, historical items, educational materials, and research data.

Kaalam: The Official Institutional Repository of Northern Iloilo State University

NISU’s central repository, Kaalam, safeguards and provides access to the university’s intellectual property. This includes publications, research materials, theses, inventions, and more. Kaalam serves several purposes: acts as a platform for NISU’s faculty, staff, researchers, and students to easily store, preserve, and share their work; offers unrestricted access to the full text or metadata of these intellectual properties, supporting academic and research efforts worldwide; and ensures global dissemination of NISU’s intellectual output.
